Although you are all certainly free to comment on any of my posts, here is a spot specifically designed for you to post questions you may have about me, or about camp generally! Don’t be a stranger!
Greetings!
Hi there! This is Chuck. I am the mascot at Glenbrook Day Camp, and I am also a truly massive chicken. You have come across my blog, which also happens to be the official blog of Glenbrook. Please, by all means, take a moment to peruse my humble offering here. Do make sure to visit again throughout the year, as I'll be posting all sorts of fun stuff!Links

Hey Chuck,
Is there any way of finding out what the T-shirt colour is for this year???
Hah hah! Oh, Kim. All you had to do was ask! I am horrible at keeping secrets, always have been. But I will give you an answer in riddle form, so put on your thinking cap: The camp t-shirts this year are a colour that rhymes with bassoon, and starts with mar. Good luck with that puzzler!
Chuck,
I have to admit I am very impressed, for a chicken you have accomplished quite a bit of success in the technology area of marketing. Who would you credit your success to most?
i) The amazing young people who attend Glenbrook and make it such a fun place for a chicken to hang out
ii) Sarah Dougald – Camp Director
iii) you, you are a self made chicken
iv) The Senior Staff who help facilitate such awesome and fun programming
v) all of the above.
I really enjoy running into you when I can, and miss being at camp. I hope your summer continues to go amazingly well, and save me a ride down the new slip and slide!!!
The Don
Not so much a question as a statement. I would just like to say that we have got some phenomenal staff this summer!
This year, we’ve had more campers than we’ve ever had before, it’s been hotter than it’s ever been before and the few rainy days we’ve had have rained harder than ever before, and the overnights have been wetter and greater than ever before.
Through all of this, the staff have continued to step up to the plate and make me and the rest of the Support Staff oh so proud to be working with you guys. We know how tiring this job can be sometimes and how hot you’ve probably all been this summer, so please know that we appreciate all of the energy and effort that you’re putting into camp. The elaborate SPIRIT day costumes, the in between activity games (you’re really creating that grout between the bricks!!!), everything you guys are doing is great!
So, to cut a long story long, I just wanted to say on behalf of the entire Support Staff one huge THANK YOU to everyone for their amazing work this summer!! I can’t believe we’ve only got 2 and a half weeks left!!
Keep up the amazing work guys!!!
Love,
Kim, Sarah D, Sarah B, Sarah H, Marc, Brittany, Kristen, Joel, Tyler, Christina, Ivan, Kate, Andrea, Tom, Laura
Have you ever been to fraser lake camp? I am joining trailblazers next year and I wonder what it’s like. By the way, say hi to Tyler and Meghan for me! Have a great weekend.
Coldgiant:)
Dear Chuck,
A friend of yours from camp who attends Willowgrove Public School, recently asked me, “Where does Chuck live?”. I was embarrassed when I myself realized that I didn’t know the answer to this question. So Chuck… where do you stay during these chilly winter months?
-Johnny
Hello Johnny, I hope that I can shed some light on an often under-researched, but terribly important topic: all sorts of weird facts about yours truly.
So, where do I live? Interesting question. Well, I think of the whole camp property as my home, so I guess I live all over camp! Some of my favourite places to sleep at night are:
1. the attic in the dining hall (snuggling up with all sorts of old GDC T-shirts)
2. dangling upside-down from the top of one of the climbing walls (with a harness on, of course! – safety first, always)
3. on the whale-tail in the woodlot.
I hope that my curious camp friend who is now a curious Willowgrove Primary School friend is satisfied with my answer!
I’m always happy to talk about me!
Dear Chuck, we are very pleased with the quality of your videos. Hopefully you do not get caught by those crazy investigators! One of them needs an esthetician to remedy the mustache situation. We think you are the best camp this side of the equator.
Well, not having been to any of the fine camps located south of the equator, I’ll have to take your word for it, very anonymous! I’ve managed to stay at least a few steps ahead of these fellows, thank goodness! Maybe they are being slowed down by their mustaches, I imagine they would catch quite a headwind!
Hey Chuck, any news on when the picks from week 7 and 8 will be up? I’ve been waiting and still there haven’t been any. I know with those pesky investigators it must be quite difficult. As well you must be terribly busy since the start of camp isn’t too far off. I hope you get some time to put those pictures up.
